Sleep, Who Needs Sleep? And The Loot!

This weekend I found myself wishing I was a vampire-- the ones that don't need sleep, can run super fast, and are very strong. That would be nice, eh? Oh yeah, I guess the Twilight ones have endless funding- that would be nice (I could use a shopping trip)! I worked hard all week, then stayed up past 3 am on Thursday night (had to be in Lehi at 9), then on Friday night, I went to bed around 4 am (had to be in Ogden at 9). Saturday, I spent the day in Ogden at a fun boutique called Scraps of Simplicity. I met a new friend, Dani Hoagland. She does the CUTEST magnet boards, etc. Her company is Scraps Decor. We hung out the whole time and had lunch at Cafe Rio. Side Note about Cafe Rio-- When Jody and I first met, we went Cafe Rio often. I always get the burrito-- fire grilled steak (YUM)-- and then, I could only eat half of it, and then I would take the other half home and eat it later (straight from the fridge!). Well, then I started to be able to eat the whole thing, easy. Ever since I had Sydney, I have been weight conscious, and I ate at Cafe Rio once and decided that I could tell how my hunger was doing by how much of the burrito I could eat. Well, at this visit, I was stuffed at the half. VICTORY!!! They had these yummy looking sugar cookies at the boutique and I waited too long to buy them and they were gone, so that was good too. Okay, side note over!
Our booth in Ogden, though this is not a great shot (there were people everywhere and had to do it fast).I made these frames between the hours of 11 pm and 4 am before the boutique... its a good thing, you know, since I still have them! But I had to show them because I reallllly like them and if no one buys, I am putting in Ethan's room. They are 8x8. And all our picture frames include glass.
So after the boutique, I drove down to Lehi to clean up the Blue Goose, and I have to stop at the gas station and get me some Diet Dew. Those of you who know me well, know I really do not drink soda. This is such a wonderful thing when you need caffeine to actually have an effect on you. Now, if I drink a Diet Coke, it does not work the same. But, if I drink Mountain Dew, I get results. I was kind of struggling-- you know, 7 hours of sleep split between 2 nights is not so great... so Diet Dew to the rescue! I think it actually helps me to get out of the car, walk inside, and actually getting the drink, too. So I arrived to the BGB, as we call it (Jenni and I), and I clean up, yada yada yada, I start to leave and realize I am starving. I am not going to stop anywhere with this trailer attached- I do not want to get into a "situation" (I DO NOT back this thing up!) and I realize I still have my Cafe Rio burrito. I know, I was thinking how gross that was-- I ate it at like 1 pm and it was 8:30... but I was hungry so I ate it, and I was actually thinking that if it made me sick, it would suck, but maybe I'd lose the 2 lbs gained over the last week... and it was delish and I did not get sick (yay for me). I had to share that little sketchy fact, cause normally I would have thrown the food out (after I carried around with me all day? weird?). What a crazy weekend! I came home and put Ethan to bed, took some Benadryl (I was having allergies all day-- itchy eyes and my left eye makeup was pretty much gone, pretty, huh?) and tried to watch Moonlight (I was so excited to see it) and I got through about 10 minutes and I remember nothing until 7:30 the next morning (thanks to my kids for sleeping a little longer than normal), I was still dog tired, so I grabbed both kids and sippy cups full of milk and made them play in Ethan's room while I slept by the door. It was just long enough to help, and they were getting annoying with all their fighting, so I finally went out and made breakfast.

A few weeks ago, a random comment was left on Tres Chic's blog from a lady in New Zealand saying she was having a drawing and to go leave a comment. I went to her blog, laughed my guts out cause she is hilarious, saw the loot that included Cadbury chocolate (YUMMMY) and I entered. Low and behold, we won! So this came in the mail a couple days ago. If you look close, you will notice I have eaten a bunch of it (hence the gaining of 2 lbs....). So thank you Scrappy Sue, for the fun and tasty loot! It is fun to have a friend on the other side of the world! I think I forgot to put in the little booklet she sent that had pics of New Zealand. I soooo want to go and visit. My aunt, Sandie, is from there and one of these days, she might take me with her (I would LOVE that).

Okay so I have a lot to say, just not right now. What is up with that? Well I guess I can tell you why I have nothing to say right now. I am stressed (but not BAD). We have three boutiques this weekend! We have been working hard and I really hope that we have enough stuff for all three of them. Here is the info:

And on a completely different note, Sydney has been going to Nursery for the past two Sundays-she was driving me crazy and the Nursery teachers heard me and said I can bring her in early. She is so good in there, I think now was the perfect time anyway. She is just starting to be clingy and maybe if we'd waited 5 weeks, she'd not be so good. I am so happy, cause she was just starting to get "hard" in classes (loud, running everywhere, the PIANO).

Is He Ready For This? And Other Ramblings...

Hmm. We had another T-ball practice tonight and it SUCKED. Picture all the other kids, with their dads standing next to them, in the spots they were assigned on the field. Then picture Ethan running all around the field/"diamond," and then running to the nearby hills surrounding our little practice and doing somersaults down them. Is this really worth my time and effort? Jody had to go to work, so he was not there and these cute moms that I am becoming friends with kept an eye on Sydney while I was about to uh.... kiss.... my child as I chased him everywhere. He said he wanted to play, he likes sports, loves baseball. Why will he not focus? I mean for even 5 minutes? I know he is three, but he can focus on a movie, why not his coach? I don't care if he can catch the ball or hit very far (he is pretty good at throwing, something he tried out in Nursery last year...), I just want him to have a good time, and he will never have a good time (and neither will I...) if I am chasing him around and trying to get him to listen. GRRR. I am not sure why I torture myself, but I will probably continue, since I just can't let anything go (especially not the $55 that they charged for this!) so prepare for more griping about this!
On a more positive note, Sydney was really good and played with the other kids. At least only one was acting up at a time.

Oh yeah and I had to throw out some likes and dislikes.
I HATE Children's Book of the Month Club. The people who work there (well, at least all that I have talked to-- which is quite a few at this point) need to invest in BRAINS.
I am tired of cold and snow, but I am SOOOOO dreading summer. To me, summer is dry, dead, hot. It is a time where I feel like I am trying with all my might (which is not much these days, and if you saw how big my yard is, you'd understand. WHAT WERE WE THINKING???) to just keep my plants and grass from dying. I feel like I am going to get heatstroke when I am outside for 10 minutes (haha). I do not lay out. If you saw me with my exercise shorts on, you would go blind.
I dislike the city neighboring us to the East. They make the stupid decisions with regards to the road construction, and I am very serious when I say that I think they plan things specifically to be inconvenient for us and make the people in our city mad. I am also very confident that MANY of my fellow residents feel that same way.
Okay so I guess I can look to the bright now.
I love 70 degree weather. It is my favorite. I enjoy being able to be outside and chill without breaking a sweat or being hot (or cold, for that matter!). We have a great deck and I really enjoy eating on it, though sometimes it is too windy and we have been known to lose food this way, so if you see lettuce flying through the air, it may have come from our house!
I love the spring and all the new growth (I am still waiting for anything in our yard to look alive) and the flowers. I love flowers. I neeeeed a flower garden, I really think they lift spirits.
I will say that I enjoy that road the dumb city widened, they did a crappy job and it is weird, but it really is quite nice to drive down (just don't do it at the wrong times, then you will understand what I am saying up there), so thanks for that. I am not completely ungrateful.
I really like Whisperwood Decor, a store my business sells stuff in. They are all great to work with and it is such a cute store. I wish it were closer to me!
I really like our metal guy. He is such a hard worker and he really goes the extra mile for us. I really appreciate him.
I appreciate my courier service, that gets stuff to me me from down south, and back. This would be my dad (he works up here)! Poor guy, always has boxes of unfinished wood and metal stuff in the back seat of his (nice, new) truck. Its a good thing he is so nice and helpful.
The whole point of this I like/dislike stuff was to say just how much I love My Mind's Eye. Our store does not have a store front, so we can not be a wholesaler of their products, but they have been really good to us and I am so happy with them. AND they are the freaking cutest stuff ever. Most of my frames are made using their products. I looked through my stuff, and really, about 85% of it is MME. I don't even need to use their stuff, I could just look through it or hang it in my room, and that would be fine with me. They just really fit my style. Better than anything else, I think. Okay so I know I am weird, I am SO into paper.
Whatever.
Oh yeah, and I really, really, really appreciate my sister in law, Tami, and her kids Dakota and Chase. They babysit for us all the time-- I am not sure if they have ever said no. I feel like I am using and abusing them, because they are always so good to us. They have really helped us go out more, helped me with my boutiqueing (?), funerals, etc. And some day I may actually have them watch the kids so we can make our pathetic once-a-year-trip to the temple (OH yeah, no worries, from my house you can see three. Four if you get out the binocs and can see through the buildings downtown. Yes, I know, I am pathetic.)THANKS GUYS!!!

They pose a sort of competition to Harry Potter and I just really don't think there is any-- I love both books and will be seeing both. They don't really compare, in my opinion. I mean maybe in small ways, but Twilight is more of a love story and HP is not (romantic love anyway).

Silent but Deadly

Perfect slogan for this girl. We were hanging out, a lot of noise and kids everywhere and then I heard water running, and noticed we were missing Sydney.

She would not look at me. Stinker.

She just went in the other room a second ago and I followed, maybe 15 seconds later, and she was on the kitchen table, emptying out the salt. Did I mention that my table is one of those tall ones? One of these days, I might be posting about emergency room visits.

Hello BUSY!

Okay so it seems like the last little while has been full of visitors! In February (can it be that long ago?), Lisa came to visit from Missouri, and we had a great time hanging out. I am a freak and I guess I did not take any pics, cause I can not find them anywhere!
Then Trajan and Lauren came to visit. Then Shelly came in from Washington, and we hung out with Nicole as well. Then I saw Carrie, and she lives here, but I have not seen her in ages. Then Kelli and I finally celebrated her birthday and went to Kneaders for breakfast-- all you can eat (which turns out to be very little, since it is so filling) French Toast (MY VERY FAVORITE!). I see Kelli more than anyone else, but maybe once every three or so months, and that is when we are being good. SO I was so happy to see all these people and to catch up. One of these days (I know, I keep saying this), when my scanner magically starts working again (ha haha ha), I am going to scan in pics of past memories with all these people. I am sure I will just embarrass myself, but oh well. What do you do? We also babysat my cousin Harley (yes, cousin and he is 3!) and Seth and Nicole came by to hang out as well.

Seth, Nicole, and Carter came over to watch the second Sunday session of General Conference with us. We have a tradition to make crepes on the Sundays we watch conference, so it was fun to have them over for that. I am missing Nicole; the only photo I have of her I am sure she would not love if I put on here, so I won't :).Syd wants more food.

Okay, so I decided to put in the best pic of Kelli (well, they all look good, this is just the best). I, on the other hand, need to take a course in posing for photos-- I could just sit and pick apart how hideous I think I look in this photo, but I will spare you. I did not look that bad in the mirror, before I left my house, though, I assure you :). I love Kneaders, they are so great! I could seriously eat the whole store (but I would be like 800 lbs and broke if I did). I guess it is a good thing that they are not closer.

I really think this will be a move that both men and women will enjoy-- there is a lot of action (you know, vampire fighting, blood, etc).
And according to the Twilight website, the 4th book in the series-- Breaking Dawn -- will be released in 110 days. I hope that I like it (my expectations are kind of high). I personally think that JJ Abrahms could (and should) make this a TV show and it would be so great to get to know the characters, like he has done with Lost.

T-Ball

This year, I decided to sign Ethan up for T-ball. They have to be 3 here, and I just thought it would be a fun way to get him involved in something and get us out of the house (and somewhere he would want to be; not Hobby Lobby!)
Here are the pics of the first practice. So many people signed up (500 kids between 3-7) that he will be playing twice a week, just to play each team once.

HELP

Okay so I am supposed to be going to a funeral today at 12 in Sandy, except I am stuck, yet again, with finding someone to watch my kids. I think this is the think I hate about parenting most. BABYSITTING. GRRR. Calling around, no one returning phone calls, etc. My normal sitters, well, most, will be in attendance.
UPDATE: My crisis has been averted. :)

ADD

Okay so I am having severe blog ADD. I really do not like to look at my blog! I mean- I could find a cute template on Pyzam, but I would have to redo ALL my links on the side. Wow, I do not have it in me to do that! So here were are, a temporary fix, but I have to say, it is too BLAH to last long. I wish I could use my own fonts, I have lots of GREAT ones, and I wish that I could choose the colors. At least that would make the blah a little better!

Since this blog is at risk of boring us all to death, I will post some photos. Kind of random ones...Syd being cute. (I am so boring, I know)

The Bridge to get into town-- AMAZING. I have not been to Idaho much, but I really can appreciate the beauty each place holds. It was a fun weekend!

This was taken this past Tuesday, the 1st of April. These cute kids are Savannah and Madeline (and my kids). Our friends, Trajan and Lauren came into town from Connecticut and came to visit us! We had such a great visit, we just love them. Lauren would not allow me to take a pic of the family (she is pregnant and self conscious, though she has NO reason to be!), so we just get the kids!

Monster Under the Table

The only way we could keep Ethan in his seat and not under the table, was to tell him there was a monster under there that only mommy could see (not even daddy). It kind of worked, but better than anything else. This is at The Old Spaghetti Factory, Trolley Square (February 29, 2008). When Jody does some radio shows, they give him free meals there, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Honestly, I have been craving a good Italian restaurant the last few days. I need to exercise heavily for the week before to prepare my body for what will be coming...
