So this weekend was really busy! Going to Swiss Days is a fun tradition that we like to do. Well,
Jody does not typically like it much, so I let him off the hook as long as Ethan stayed with him... he agreed! So my sister Jenni and her friend Angie, Nicole Wheatley, and her friend Ann and I met up and had a good time.... among the crowd and heat. Oh well, it is all to say we did it. I
hardly spent any money (that made Jody happy), except on the Swiss Navajo Taco (hahaha). I love those. This is Sydney playing with Carter Wheatley. They kept playing with each others toes.
So last weekend (as in August 26th), my Great Grandma Hancock (my Grandma Kenney's
mom) passed away. She turned 94 the day before. So Friday night we spent at her viewing and then Saturday at the funeral. It was a funny and VERY long funeral. She had a lot of family, so what can you expect? One thing that impressed me is that she had strong family connections and still maintained life-long friendships. Two people spoke at her service that had been her friends for over 50 years. I love that! Friends are the best. This is me, my Grandma, and Sydney. This passing of Nan, as we called her, was sad, but I did not know her as well as her grandkids (my dad, etc). But then I start relating it to the passing of MY grandma, and it made me very sad. I am very close to my grandma and I would be, will be, devastated when I have her to no longer talk to or confide in.

This is my dad's family-- Ryan, Tracy, Chris, Scott, Vona Dee (grandma), Penney, Ginger, Tim, Alan, Lyle (my dad). Nine kids. I am not sure how she survived. haha.
It is always good to see people-- I hardly ever see any of my dad's cousins. To some people, that would make sense, but I am not much younger than my dad's youngest brother, so we used to go a lot of the same places.
This is me and my only brother, Joel. I am the oldest, he is the youngest. If there is a way to rotate the pic, I have not figured it out yet. I have deleted and had to redo this too many times for me to care at this point! So, while many hate funerals (me included), this was a good time and I am so happy I was able to attend and hang out with so many people. I even saw people there that I know, but did not know that we were related. Kind of funny.

Sorry, I am sure that most people would rather not read about a funeral!
We went to my sister Jenni's house on Sunday to celebrate her birthday, as well as my mom and another sister, Allison's birthdays. Busy weekend!
