Contest Ending, etc

Tomorrow is the last day for entering the contest from my business' blog- you can still go and enter for a chance to win two luggage tags. the winner will be able to choose colors as well as me personalizing them , so the tags will already have info on them, rather than filling out those tags everytime you are at the airport. If you have problems leaving a guestbook entry on our website, go ahead and just leave the comment on our blog.

A few weekends ago, the kids and I went over to visit my grandma while she watched some cousins, Hailey and Ryder. Sydney loved this doggie cage. My little Sydney doggle. So silly. The dogs that actually sleep there are some really cute dachshunds named Tinkerbell and Paris. Sydney kept yelling "NO Paris!" It was hilarious (she was copying Hailey).

Tonight, I will be going to Daybreak to set up for the Oh Sweet Sadie! show that is going on this weekend. If you did not make it last weekend (or did), come and visit, and if you want a really good cookie -- I want to say best I ever had, almost (a very close 2nd to my grandma's very good sugar cookies), they are so so so sososososoooo good. Dani Lassiter's salsa is also very good as well (and her caramel sauce and her fudge sauce... come on, I know I can make these things, but its so nice to buy hers, they are SO GOOD, very worth the $).

Seriously So Annoying

Okay here is my opinion. Big surprise. Normally, I may think this blog is funny? I don't know but I HATE IT! {I am so sorry if I know you, the person who writes it.} But seriously, http://www.seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com/ is the most annoying blog to read. I posted this because I know, everyone else loves it. I think the MAN who writes it needs to get a freaking life. Okay just kidding, I am sure the person who does it makes money. And has a good time. I just hate it cause at one point I thought those little baby things were cute (babystrology). They have it (and are obviously making fun of having them) so therefore, I hate them now. What else? I just decided, after listening a bunch and being undecided for a while, that I really love that Crush song by David Archuleta. I do not watch American Idol. I don't give a crap whether or not the kid comes from Utah. I just love the song, I will admit, because it reminds me of Edward in Midnight Sun and it makes me crazy (in a good way). Speaking of, not everyone loves Twilight the way I do. I hate that this blog has a love for Twilight.
I know, I need a sense of humor. My husband tells me all the time. But still. I find reading that blog (though I will admit I did LMAO at the Obama post) painful- I cringe at all the stupid "mish" "BFF" and how they make fun of the fact that everyone is becoming a photographer, Oh I could go on. Sorry everyone, who truly gets a good laugh from this. I just hope you find my posts a bit more genuine, not so "cookie-cutter" (to copy Danielle and Shantiell from the high school days), annoying... I am trying to keep in touch with this thing, as well as use it for a history, since I suck at making time to scrapbook. OK. I am going to work. ADIOS.
Oh yeah, please, come to this AWESOME boutique. The people involved truly are talented and it is well worth a visit.

Items of Interest

Or at least worthy of me noting to remember later...

  • First off, to those of you I really should have called or emailed about this, I am sorry. I am just not excited, therefore I can not bring myself to "announce" to anyone. Don't misunderstand though, this was very planned. I am almost 14 weeks pregnant, due in March {I hate saying the date, since it is probably not the right one, but here ya go-- 18th... maybe for you, Kelli, I will plan that to happen on the 16th ;)}. So I guess I am on to #3! I must say that I am not loving pregnancy as much as I once did... but I will not complain. I just think "hmm I want to get pregnant." And then I am pregnant. So I am very grateful for NO PROBLEMS in that aspect of life. I truly feel blessed- I read or hear so many who want so badly to have children and they just can not (or have a very hard time), so I do not take this ability lightly.

  • Ethan has started preschool. He absolutely LOVES it. His boring mom never has anyone over to play, so I fear he is not as "socialized" as he should be, but this has been great for him. I am sure he loves a break from me, too! He has a wonderful teacher (I personally think you are amazing!), Miss Crystal.

  • We went to Idaho, Boise, for the weekend {9/6 and 9/7}. I can't really even say it was a weekend. We were there for less than 48 hours. Really, a very spontaneous trip, reminding me of a quick trip to Vegas that I took one weekend, long ago, when I had no one to worry about but me. Well, fortunately, this time went very smoothly. Erica and Weston were having an open house up there, since that is where his family lives, and she expressed (umm at the very last minute, PS!) that she would like us to come. Jody had to work, so it was all me. I was like... umm we can't pay for gas and a hotel room... and she called me back and said she had a place for us to stay.... I had to make sure that she clarified with this poor family what kind of kids (or KID-- Ethan) I have, and she said she did. OKAY... so with a car that is falling apart (or at least I kind of feel like it), my two kids, an audiobook (so I did not fall asleep-- Children of the Promise 5), LOTS of movies + Jody's laptop, LOTS of snacks, and two things of coolant (radiator problems... I guess), and a place to stay (at Weston's brother's girlfriend's house) we drove up to Boise. It was fun. We stopped in Twin Falls, at McDonald's (we ate there in March, when Jody and I went up there), then headed on. We had a great time. The only not fun thing about it was the fact that we spent $180 in gas. YIKES. I must say we definitely owe a big Thank You to the Kerr family for letting us invade their lives. I was a tad nervous, staying somewhere that I did not know anyone-- I had met Erica (that is her name as well as my sister's), and she was nice, but that was for like three seconds. But they were VERY nice- they fed us breakfast and lunch, let the kids play out back, and their youngest (9 years old) played outside with them for a bit while I cleaned all our stuff up. It was good to be somewhere and not feel like I was intruding or like my kids were going to break everything in sight. Don't get me wrong- they had a nice house with nice things, the atmosphere was just relaxed and the mom had told me about her oldest son and how crazy he used to be. It is nice to hear, since I feel like everyone who has kids that have grown have miraculously forgotten how hard it is or how rotten their kids were (hahaha) and that I am the only one with an active boy running around. She made me feel completely at home. Also, the dad is an amazing artist. They have his art displayed all over and he is AWESOME. We had a great time and are so grateful they let us stay with them!

The cute coupleAlliJoelErica and the kidsJenniMy parents-- cripple dad (haha)-- he recently had knee replacement surgery.

I am fairly confident that Ethan ate half of the candy at this party. He is eating Gummy Bears here.Sucking on some candy. What she does best. A little bored???These are at the Kerr's home.

  • This morning, Jody was helping Ethan say the prayer and he said something like "please bless Sydney and Ethan" and Ethan went on to say "please bless Sydney and Batman"-- he always replaces his name with that of Batman, Ironman, Spiderman (though he is off that one for right now), etc. He is currently loving Ironman the most.

  • Last night, we went to Al (my uncle) and Calleen's house to celebrate another Uncle, Ryan's birthday. He is the youngest, and is just older than me, 31. Happy Birthday Ryan! Ryan manages a website that has some awesome deals, right now the deal is Smith Chino Sunglasses for $39.99, but who knows what it will be later (last night it was DC shoes for way cheap!) so check it out- http://www.whiskeymilitia.com/
  • I am not sure I am ever going to make cornbread again. I LOVE Marie Callender's mix, I buy it all the time. But I decided it is WAY to much work. My kids get crumbs EVERYWHERE! I can not believe how long it takes to get my floor looking fantabulous (like an hour) and then the next hour, we are eating dinner (enter the cornbread) and it is messy again! So fast. So, cornbread is out for a while. At least until I forget what a pain it is to clean up, or my kids are old enough to clean up after themselves...
  • My cute little Sydney. Oh that girl. Feeding her is a long process. She sits in her chair and really enjoys her food-- so much that she savors every bite and it takes her an hour... or two... to eat. Here she is in her little angel dress-up (bought it missing the wings). She enjoys walking around in just one shoe.

Change of Plan

Sydney woke me up this morning (and for the last three days) pretty early, but this morning, it was late enough when she was no longer "fussing" that I decided that it was pointless to go to bed-- 6:50 am. Too much on my mind. So I thought I would sit down and blog about how much I absolutely LOVE fall, etc. I logged into yahoo and was... well I saw what today is and it really always kind of hits me in a way I do not expect. That Alan Jackson song comes on, "Where were you on that September day..." Every year, I know it is coming and do not even bat an eyelash, but then the morning comes and I look at the clock and the time reminds me EXACTLY where I was that day. And it hits me. And then I thank God that those idiots did not choose a date, oh say two months and a day earlier, to do that. And then I feel terrible for thinking that, because I feel terrible for all those affected by that tragedy. The morning of September 11th, 2001, I was in my room, getting ready for my 9:30 class at SLCC-- Sociology of the Marriage and Family. And someday when I actually finish, it will probably be in an area related to that class that I will graduate in. I did not want to go (even though I loved that class) because it was toooooo early (little did I know what life with kids was going to be like). I was sitting on the bed, watching TV.

The Today Show. I cried all morning. I made my self sick by crying so hard.
Two months prior, on July 12th, 2001 Jody and I went with my sister Brooke, into the city. I am not sure whether or not we took the PATH (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) in or out, but we were down where it comes in, at the WTC stop. We walked around the mall that was once down there (apparently Manhattan's largest mall, up until 9.11.2001), watching the hustle and bustle that it was. SO many people were down there, went in that place every morning. It makes me so sick to think about it.
I can't remember if we were in the building before that, or after, but this was a sightseeing trip. I had been to New York before, with Jenni, and hadn't been to all these places, but this time, we wanted to see all the typical tourist spots. We took the ferry out to the Statue of Liberty, and walked around (I don't think we could go in?), we visited the Empire State Building, and we wanted to go See what the "Top of the World" was like. So we took the ginormous and fast elevator up and I can't remember exactly what floor-- maybe 107? There we watched a movie and took a virtual helicopter ride (I remember having to go into the bathroom and fix my contacts- they were new and I was having trouble with them). Then we took two escalator rides up to the outdoor observation deck- so maybe it was only 109 floors compared to 1 WTC that was 110? One thing I loved about this place, was it was so quiet compared to the busy city below. Also, the Empire State Building has a big fence enclosing you at the top- this did not, you just could not go out all the way to the edge. The way they had constructed it made it possible to see, according to Wikipedia, "49 miles in any given direction." Unobstructed. I took a bunch of photos. I also remember taking pictures for a Russian? family. It was so nice to be up there. That is the Empire State Building, just behind my head.
The terrorist attacks on our country that day were terrible tragedies, but what gets to me the very most, is this-- we noticed a TKTS booth, where you can purchase discounted Broadway Show tickets, and the line was SO short! I mean the one in Times Square is SOOOO LONG! So we jumped in line and bought tickets to Beauty and the Beast, and decided that this was going to be our TKTS booth forever, no more Times Square madness (this is not what saddens me). We waited around a little while, in lines for the TKTS and the Tower elevator, the bathroom, whatever, so we had a lot of time overlooking the business entrance, and to see a lot of people--business people-- coming in and out, flashing their badges and going through those waste-high things (don't know the name, sorry). These were the people who came and went, most likely, every day. The people who called this place "the office". I could go on-- I bought ice cream from the Ben and Jerry's and the Krispy Kreme outside (but was in between the two towers), I bought souvenirs from the gift shop up in the tower. What kills me the most is that I was not just surrounded by tourists, who were no doubt thousands of miles away by 9.11.2001, but the people who were probably in that building two months later, scrambling for their lives, or maybe who died. I interacted with some of these people, or saw them in motion.

Apologies and Invitations

First off, I have felt terrible since I read Stephenie Meyer's website and her feelings regarding the leak of Midnight Sun. So, I must apologize for the part I had in it. I have reasons why I chose to post the link to the chapters on my blog (where I wanted to share with my friends; my blog is not supposed to be searchable, so some random search for "Midnight Sun" should not have my blog in the results). I know that people leak things all the time as publicity stunts, and I would say she/her publisher don't seem like the type, but this is not anything completely new, so who knows. Plus, I never saw anywhere that it was actually THE story, written by her. We all know fans can be crazies who dedicate their lives to these things; let's face it, it would not be hard to write your own "Edward's" version, if you were creative enough (and crazy, with time). Anyways, my defenses aside, I feel bad and apologize for my part.

Next, I want to invite you to go to the new website for Tres Chic --http://www.letreschicboutique.com/. We are having a contest, so be sure to check it out! I have also updated our boutique calender. The next couple of shows we have are the Blue Goose Boutique, at the Lehi Legacy Center, and Oh Sweet Sadie!, in Draper. I will be posting more details as the time draws near.

A couple pics from Erica's Wedding day. Maybe some other time I will post more pics and my dress dilemma, but for now, I am DONE on the computer for a while!

My Family-- it just keeps getting bigger :)

Mountain Air

It has been a long and exhausting week. I am soooo tired, it is 10:47 pm, and I am going to get some food and go work on some more picture frames- I really want to have them ready for tomorrow! (not sure why this looks different, ps)

We are participating in our Midway Market again this week. This store has tents set up out front every few weeks, and we are one of them. The store is called Racehorse Lane, and it is 105 East Main Street.

The road where the gas stations are (the one where you come from that is just past Deer Creek Reservoir), just turn right and it is just a few doors down, on the North side of the street. You can not miss it, there are about 12 great vendors, as well as a very cute store. There are some watches (jewelry beady ones) being sold at Swiss Days-- the lady selling those in the Midway Market has VERY cute ones and they are less $ than in SD. I had a lady who purchased a magnet board from me wearing one (a watch), and I asked her which place she bought from and she said over by us, she had liked those ones better. So there are some really great things over by us (not to mention us!) so if you come to Midway, be sure to come and see the other booths too. A small sampling of the items we have for sale right now- these two are shirts, both Twilight-related, for those of you non-readers out there. {PS total side note. I loved reading Edward's take on the Dazzle thing. Freak. He dazzled me through his story and I don't even know what the guy looks like. Okay but really. Also if you were disappointed by a link in one of my previous posts, please email me and I may be able to assist you ;)}

Edward-

Jacob-

These are originals, the fonts picked out by Jenni or myself. If you see someone else has them, they totally copied me and I will be a nice kind of angry :) So anyway just thought I would share these photos, wish I had more. As always, we have Y and UofU footballs as well. In fact, some really nice lady that I really do not want to like showed up to our market selling them as well, however, ours are more detailed and cost less $, so we outshine the competition (but hey, if you prefer paying $10 more, you can still buy ours and pay that too, if you want!).

Sorry, this is a bad pic in that the pink and the purple/brown ones are sold, but I thought I would share them anyway!

Jenni and I pitched a tent and slept in the yard last night. I have one work. Okay three. C.O.L.D., Loud (cars driving by at 5:30 am... who does that?!?) and BUMPY! If I do this type of thing again, I will not forget the air mattress, my earplugs, and if it is in the beautiful mountains this time of year, I will probably take some hand warmers and extra clothing. Other than that, the mountain air was great!
