Surprise!

It was my birthday. I was hungry but no one was moving. To make dinner at home or go somewhere. Jody had been texting so many people. He cleaned off our counter (love it empty but it rarely is). I received a random text from Erica about overtime. Other little things that may or may not have meant anything, but they did! I heard people outside, coming up the walk, then the doorbell rang and Jody just sat there waiting. So I was like umm... okay I will get it! Not too long before, the doorbell rang and he ran to get it.
Surprise!!! The surprise party came to my house!
I did not get pics of everyone there, unfortunately. What a bummer! I missed Hailey & Adam, Kelli & Roger, Becca, Grandma Harrison, Rachelle, Alan, and Cindy. I may have missed more, but I am still looking and remembering! Thanks to everyone who came. I know it was a last minute effort and Jody was not sure who to invite, etc.
Harley, Joel and Syd
Jody's creation (red velvet, vanilla pudding, lemon cake, whipped cream-- it was yummy!)

Waiting, in a safe corner, for someone to drop some food
CAKE please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom, Tracy, Calleen, Joel, Harley, Hailey K
One of my gifts-- shoes to exercise in! The last time I bought some of those was in 2002 or 2003. They are pretty worn out!
Magic Bullet. I have heard its great, now I get to try! (our blender died)
Alli, Aidan and Sydney
Syd. She is everywhere! I guess that is a true two year old for you! My Dad, Jenni, and Erica holding Aidan
Jody and I. If you are wondering why we always have pics with that background, its cause that is the best spot for the camera to sit for self timer pics!
Stinker would not cooperate for the pictures
Hailey Kenney and Jake, just a chillin'
Alli multi tasking-- texting and playing with Sydney at the same time.
Erica loving Aidan. My kids have such great Aunts! (and Uncles too :))
My Sweety Baby!

My mom.
It was a way fun party and I am so glad that people came to hang out and have a good time. I have the best family and friends anyone could ask for :) Thanks Jenni and Erica for helping Jody pull it off!
The next night, we went to Texas Roadhouse with Seth and Nicole. I signed up for lots of places' clubs online and they send you free stuff. This was to take advantage of a free appetizer for my birthday. Yes, I am wearing the same thing as the night before. You can not tell by the pic but Nicole is like 6 months prego.

First Harvest

I am so excited about my garden and that it is growing. There in not much to harvest at this point, YET! But this cold weather has bought me some time in the lettuce, spinach and radish department, so I have been happy about that! Oh and on a completely different note, I have liked the rain and chilliness for other reasons too-- I can wear a jacket and hide my post baby body that I am not loving, I can keep windows open (or not) and not be paying loads for a/c or heat. I have really been grateful for that, since I get hot easy and this weather has really bought me some time during a wonderful season we usually don't get to enjoy all that much.

Radishes and lettuce, straight from my garden! It makes me feel so productive, seeing growth like that. I can not even put into words the rewarding feeling :)
I don't even like radishes! HA! But they are so gorgeous and I was so excited, I tried one. Yeah. Still don't like them! I tried to get my kids to try them, and in true fashion, Syd tried one and Ethan would not even let me close with it. Syd started chewing and spit it out. In a cute way, she said "I hate radishes.... I need a drink!" It was so funny, I could not stop laughing. Nasty. Well others like them, I was giving her a chance to... I gave her a high five for trying something new. Go girl. (unfortunately, Ethan and I are a lot alike. Notice Jody is the one eating the first salad from the garden... I needed his stamp of approval!)
They really are pretty. Red and Green go so well together!

One More!

I did not think this one worked, but I came across it and had to add-- Heather, Lisa, Brooke, just after our wedding. I was very impressed by Heather and Lisa, they were the few friends who came to my actual wedding. There are lots of good reasons why it is good to have a lot of friends (the same goes for family)-- one is so you have a support group at important events when others are living elsewhere, have other obligations that they can not get out of, etc. I have the best friends and I love you all!

The Big 3-0

Never thought I would reach this age! I know that
sounds strange to many people, but my parents married pretty young and I am the oldest, so they were in their 30's all my growing up. That was old to me! At the age of 30, my parents had 4 out of their 6 kids, the oldest being (me) in 6th grade? I think. Anyway, they had more years between their kids than me, since I have 3 and I am 30. Anywho, I thought I would post some pics from t
he past 30 years of my life. You may be in one! These pics are in random order and my scanner decided it was sick of me, so there are a few years missing :)

I tried to get more pics and with more friends, but scanner is so DONE. Not sure if its broken. I hope not!
I don't look all that different, once I became an adult. I mean there are some key improvements, one of which was my eyebrows. Thanks Kendra, I owe you BIG TIME. At the time they did not seem so bad. Now I look back and... what the crap was I thinking?!!!?? Long hair, short hair, mid-length. Other than that, its just the fluctuation in weight. {I wish I could say I am done fluctuating, but no can do. Have to get done having kids for that to happen (and I am desperately wanting to lose 30 lbs before I say I want to stop fluctuating!). } Oh yeah. And a few wrinkles...

Facebook Status

I have these things that I think of and could use as my Facebook status or what I am thinking or whatever, but I would a) be changing it all day b) some things, people just would not care c) I would like to remember some things. So here goes to more random thoughts!

  • I wonder when Aidan will start being okay with eating every three (HA or four!) hours instead of every two hours! Holy hannah! I think I am goin to give him rice cereal VERY soon.
  • I love this weather. I seriously am grateful for it, except when crazy things happen like yesterday (crazy wind and hail and hard rain for 15 minutes straight-- it cause lots of landscaping issues around the neighborhood and I probably lost half my apricots and peaches. I am just afraid to go check...) Less $ spent on a/c and also one less month to have a $300 water bill. THANK YOU HEAVEN!
  • I am excited to make a pizza resembling this! http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=274104&nl=RZ-060909-hot-forum-topic__post-url-2
  • The Oquirrh Hills Temple open house was great! We went the second day and it was far from crowded. Seriously was awesome.
  • Jody is doing a triathlon this weekend; it was supposed to be his first Olympic size, but decided to change that goal to be towards the end of the season. He just needs to train a bit more for it. I think he probably could have done it, but I just don't think pushing it too far is smart. Rather be safe than sorry. Just an FYI-- a sprint can be different in lengths, but is typically about this-- (not sure on swim) about 750 (meters?), 12 mile bike ride, and a 5k run. Olympic is about a mile swim, 24 mile bike ride, and a 10k. That is a lot of movement!
  • Jody is now training to do a half marathon with my cousin's wife, Jesi. I think they are going to do the Top of the World, in Logan, in August. They could do Deseret News on in July, but Jody will be in Lake Powell. ( I think I would rather run in Logan anyway-- too hot here!)
  • I am looking for a gym membership where I can work out and not worry about finding childcare while doing so. I also don't want to (and can not) pay an arm and a leg!
  • Sometimes "mom" stuff is just too much. I mean I like to cook, but I don't like having to do it every single day, three times a day. It just gets old. I am in a funk too. Cereal anyone?
  • Oh shoot. My stomach just got warm and wet. I am feeding Aidan and he peed through his diaper & clothes.
  • I am so excited about this- I have a Banana Republic Visa (use it most at Old Navy) and they offer rewards-- 5% back, to their companies (Gap Inc). Every year they send out a $15 birthday reward card and they are trying to get people to use the Visa for other purchases (even though the APR is AWFUL) so I have two $20 rewards just for using the card on gas (no worries, I paid for it right away!). So this weekend I get to spend $55 at their stores, for free! WOO HOOOO!
  • I saw the New Moon trailer and it made me excited. I REALLY hope this movie is better than the last. But it also made me sad. I could smack Edward.
  • I love to read! Its GREAT!

3 Months

Three months has practically flown by!  Aidan is a smiley boy who likes attention.  He enjoys interacting with people, especially me.  He will smile at Ethan and Sydney and does enjoy them, as much as is possible these days (poking, prodding, they are loud and "in your face" etc)!

He has rolled over two or three times, but I am thinking they were accidents cause its been a while.  He coos and is chatty if you get him going and pause to give him a chance to respond. He sometimes gets on a crying spree, but less often and its for a reason I can figure out now (usually hungry or tired).  He has a hard time soothing himself, so he needs some extra love and comfort (rocking with paci in his mouth).  He is the first of our kids that 95% of people who comment, say he looks like me (the other two, it would be "Oh wow! He/she looks exactly like you" then ten minutes later, from someone else would be "Oh wow! He/she looks exactly like Jody!)  All in all, we love him and he is a sweet boy!
