WOW
This is a comment that was left on my friend Brandy's blog (link in sidebar). I could not have said it better.
It is hard to totally take in just the joy in a truly joyous moment when it comes after 9 months of weight gain, swelling, nausea, exhaustion, surgery, upset of familiar routines, hormonal adjustments, expenses, long-late nights, emotional siblings, and lack of control of things we want control of (our lives!)
HOLY COW! That about sums up how I feel. I am about one more sleepless night away from losing it too. I have not gone too many places yet, but Jody goes back to work tomorrow and I fear I will never be able to leave the house again. Especially with a nursing baby who eats every freaking two hours. As in I start feeding him at 12, I start again at 2. Short leash- Jody's words. A trip to Wal-Mart takes twice as long, let alone go on more than one errand at a time! Not to mention that I would have to haul around three kids. Two was hard enough. I am not a stay home and chill all the time kind of person. I mean I like to do that, but I really like to leave too. I wonder how long I am going to survive! (Can we advance my first child into Kindergarten and go ahead and make it an all day affair here???).
To add to it some details, we received my portion of the hospital bill today. Besides the fact that each percocet (and I took lots) were $3.55 each (When you pay $5 at Smiths for a whole bottle, maybe $4 at Costco), there is the room charge. Now I am not complaining, I could have left before I did and I would have been fine (maybe?), I just want to point this out. Maybe next time I will have my baby and check us both out and head for the Bellagio. I am dead serious. My room charge was $515 a night. That did not include the nurses. They charged for those as well. LOTS. Okay, right now we have pretty damn good insurance. They pay 90%. Well, they just changed, due to all the crap that is going on and I am sure the downward spiral of newspapers does not help. Anyway, they won't pay so much next time. SO what I am saying is- how much is the Bellagio? I always wanted to stay there. I mean I would have to be extra careful not to ruin anything (haha), but other than that, I can get up the next day, and Jody can help me do that. I may just get a real luxury vacay rather than a pretend one :). I wonder what the nursery bill is going to look like... (just in case you are curious, my maternity bill was more than $9000. Not including baby, my OB, Anesthesia, etc. Just the hospital. If you don't have insurance, I pray you qualify for Medicaid.)
Sorry, I am neurotic. Going to feed baby and go to bed. For an hour or two. Pray that it is three or four, that would be much, much better and maybe it would recharge me for the no sleep that is going to come tomorrow night!

Lazy Post
I like my doctor. She actually did not even deliver baby. And that Dr was nice too. I just want to say that I really miss Dr Lawrence and I feel like a psycho patient that can't let go, but I heard on the recording for the Dr office I go, that she will be back in the fall, and I am like OHHH YAYAYYAYAYAY she can deliver my next kid. Four is it for me, I hope, and I would really like it to be her that takes care of me. I feel TERRIBLE saying that cause it may sound like I don't like Dr Smith, I do. I just have this history with DR L and I just really trust her as well. Next kid will for sure be a c-section and the more you have, the more dangerous it is. I think it is ridiculous I am planning my next pregnancy and delivery, and my most recent was less than two weeks ago, so I will stop.

"Busy"
I loved that background that I had, but I just could not take those shamrocks in the way anymore. I have had some monster headaches in the last couple days, and looking at that background with the headaches was a bit too much! So here we are, till I get bored of this one or till I learn how to make my own.
Thanks for all your sweet comments and well-wishes :) Jody and my grandma got my house all cleaned and ready for me to come home today. I am nervous to go home and start this new part of life, but I am a little stir crazy here too. Oh well, guess you have to move forward, eh? Thanks to those signed up to bring our family dinner. I reallllly appreciate it!
Cute Syd, not too long before we left for the hospital.
My last at-home pregnany photo. 37 weeks and like 5 days.

Memory
I know I should be asleep, and we will see how long I last, but I just wanted to write. I sort of enjoy the nocturnal life anyway and just watching all the things these nurses do at night. My poor baby was circumcised today, so he had kind of a rough one, but other than that, he is doing great. He was just weighed, and now he is at 6 lbs 4 oz. I guess I better get feeding him more so he does not lose too much more!
Okay so I am starting to get loopy so I will just get to it :) Some asked how I remember when I met Jody. Well, even though we fight a lot and sometimes just don't like each other at all (ha ha ha), I really do consider it one of the best days of my life. Its easy to say such nice things right now cause I am on one of my highs- you know, full of love right after the baby is born and I am not sure how long it is going to last, so I better say all the loving things I feel right now :) just in case the not so lovely hits soon (I already warned Jody too, lol).
Anyway. Another way to remember, is we really never stopped hanging out after we met. I mean we met and then we were dating. And then we were engaged and married. We met that night, a Saturday night, went out on the most expensive first date ever (thanks to James Cottle for referring us to eat at Carver's) on Monday night. Jody went out of town for a couple days to Southern Cali for work and when he came home, we really saw each other pretty much every day after that except one till we were married. Up until recently, I had an excellent memory too, Okay I am falling asleep, so I better actually do that in the right place. Once again, I hope this all make sense!

Aidan Connor Genessy

Jody is such a good dad. He loves his kids and he his new baby. He has actually changed more of Aidan's diapers than I have, so far! He is so involved :)

I know, a pretty picture :) I just like to see what exactly the baby looks like.Okay here is the story. We went to church Sunday an I taught Ethan's class n Primary. That was interesting. The boys are so active and the girls just sit there so nice and quiet! I kind of felt different, but I was not having contractions. I actually just felt all tight/tense. Anyway so we came home from church and I kept bugging Jody-- when do you think he will be born, etc.
I put kids down for naps, and was having mild contractions, but nothing to start writing down. A bit later, they were about ten minutes apart, nothing real painful, but more than just my stomach tightening. I just kept thinking there was a few things I had wanted done, so I washed my sheets, washed a few items I had wanted to take to the hospital, and finished organizing my nursing corner in my room. It is not like I knew I was going to have a baby that night or next day, but I knew it was definitely possible, so I wanted to be 100% ready! Jody's mom and sister came over for dinner, we had waffles. I started keeping track of my contractions on paper and they were reminding me of the labor I was in with Ethan-- they were pretty much every 6 minutes, some stronger than others, some more intense, and then sometimes they were closer together. Well that is how these were. Every 5 minutes. Some 2-3 minutes apart, but most were 5. So I kept track and then finally called the Dr on call. Then, I told my house guests what was going on. We cleaned up a little and finished getting the kids ready to go (there stuff was still kind of packed from their Friday night sleepover with Erica and Weston). Then we just kind of hung out for a few and I decided to finally come in to check what was happening. I was kind of afraid to be sent home, so that is why I took my time. We dropped kids off at my parents and went in to the hospital. I was happy when the nurse said I had dilated more than I had been at my last appt on Tuesday. So anyway, they talked to the Dr on call and he decided to do it. So we got all ready to go. It was pretty late-- almost midnight. I was kind of getting excited cause Jody and I met on March 2nd 2001, and now we have a baby born on that day too. Kind of interesting! You just don't know where life is going to take you. I had no idea that I was going to marry him, let alone have one of his children 8 years later on that same day :)
I am struggling with falling asleep while working with technology (SO dumb!). I am just happy he is healthy. The spinal did not cover 100% of the pain, but we are good now and enjoying these first few days. Jody is such a good sport, sleeping on the sofa and dealing with all of this. OK really this is taking forever cause I keep falling asleep! Hopefully it makes sense, since I am kind of all drugged up!
