Halloween 2007

Halloween is such a fun time of year. This year, we bought Ethan's costume in AUGUST! We were on the way to a camping trip and stopped at Costco. You see it you buy it, or you do not see it again, right? Well we have learned that concept at Costco. I tried to buy Sydney the chicken last year, before she was even born, but they did not have any left. I am glad they decided to carry it again because she makes a darn cute chicken!

The Festivities began on Saturday, October 27th at 11 am- we arrived at the zoo, for what is becoming our annual trip to Boo at the Zoo. Fun, but reminding self (and husband) that if we do this next year, to arrive at 9:30 or 10:00 am. Very Busy. We went to a birthday party for our little friend Carter Wheatley, who turned one on October 30th. Then We made our way to our ward party-- a Trunk or Treat. I think this would have been more successful if it was on Halloween and combined with another ward. We had like 15 "trunks" to go to. It was fun though. We went to Grandma Genessy's house and showed off the costumes on Sunday night. Then for the next three days, Ethan asked to wear his costume... Halloween day we visited Jenni in Springville and made a few quick trick or treat stops. This was the first real Trick or Treating Ethan has done! Then we made our way to the Kenney's for dinner and TorT with them. It was a blast and I am glad that we were able to wear the costumes a couple nights and longer than an hour!

OH and I must explain the interesting adult costumes.... If you asked Ethan what people were going to be for Halloween, he'd have said: Papa- Barney, Joel- Cowboy, Ethan- Spiderman, Sydney- Chicken, Grandma- Herself, Jenni- mouse like mom, Jody- Lion, and me a mouse. Not sure where he got all that from, exactly, but Jody thought he would humor Ethan and on Halloween day went looking for a lion for him and mouse for me. The pics show what he came up with...

Funny Boy

So last night, we went to Gardner Village with my grandma and a few uncles and their families. It was fun but really cold. For some reason, I took my wallet out of my bag and it never made it back. Actually, this morning I looked in my bag and realized it was not there. I was in a huge hurry, late for a haircut, so I ran out the door and thought I would worry about it later. Well, while I was driving, I decided to pray about it. In my prayer, I basically said that I knew I had not looked everywhere yet, but just in case I did not have it, to please let whoever finds it be an honest person and turn it in. Well, I completely forgot about it until about 3 (not like me, that is a serious matter!). I searched high and low and no wallet. SO I called Gardner Village, and the lady described my cute little red wallet with a monkey on it. FREAK. I get to drive all the up to GV again today. I was actually EXTREMELY relieved, so I was more than happy to do so. I did not even remember I said that prayer until a few hours later. A little (or big) blessing.

So I decided to maximize our outage, which is a must when it takes more than 15 minutes to get anywhere besides Smiths. We went to pick up my wallet and then drove to Arctic Circle and got Ethan a "green one". This means a Frankenstein flashlight. Then we went to Coscto. Love that place. We did not leave the store until almost 9:00 (I was one of the last people in line, but I was there since 8:30). Then Ethan said that he needed to go potty. I freaked. Reason: last time he said that in a store, he peed less than 30 seconds later ALL OVER THE FLOOR. Like a HUGE puddle. So I was saying please don't pee pee yet, over and over. Yeah I am sure the people in front of me, the young, kid-free male checkers, and the guys behind me thought I was a freak, but clean up pee or hope you are talking your kid out of peeing all over the floor (and whatever is in the cart...) at Costco... at closing time? So he made it to the potty and disaster was avoided.

This is turning out to be a looong post for me to say that we got in the car and I was feeling terrible since Sydney had not nursed in forever, so we sat there and I was feeding her. In the back seat, I hear Ethan ask Frankenstein if he is hungry. I looked back and he was feeding Frankenstein. It was hilarious. I was trying so hard not to laugh. He just had the flashlight basically on his ribs, and the put him to his face and ask him if he was done. FUNNY. He was really cute about it too. Oh and I will add one more funny. I say Damn it. A lot. And the other day Jody said, "dagnabbit!" Well I said my words and then Ethan yelled,"Dammit rabbit!" We were laughing our heads off, though my husband does not appreciate Ethan copying my badness. SO he was either combining our phrases, or just trying to say dagnabbit. He said daggitnabbit after, so I keep trying to get him to say that. It is really funny and cute. Love my boy (I am just waiting for him to say dammit rabbit at church or something)!

As Promised...

Okay so I did it! A day late, but hey, I did not come home last night. I slept at my parents' house because they live near the boutique! Our booth is TINY! It is only 5'x4'. That may not seem tiny, but you have to be able to get in too, so do not make that into square feet.
We are looking for new vendors. Well, we love them, but the ones we get our stuff that we actually make... yeah I am sick of seeing other people with the same things as we make (but we did not make it!). I know that is our fault for going to (the) place(s) that we go and using their cute displays too. SO we are on a quest to find DIFFERENT. And so you can not just walk into our booth and say "I can make that" because no one will know where the crap to get the stuff. One of these days, we will succeed at actually being unique. Until then, please bear with us! We have some dang cute sayings and fonts coming for Christmas (see the Happy Halloween plaque?)
Okay so our metal guy is the one painted that monster... He said he wanted to show people ideas of how to finish him off... I did not have the heart to paint over him... what can I say? I like the plain metal better...

Those tins on the top shelf were made by my mom and I have to say they are so cute. I really love them. She is working on a masculine version.

This next photo is a crappy shot and random, but I wanted to share it because it is so precious. I almost cried. My dad and Ethan are both playing guitars. My dad is singing 'Now and Forever' by Richard Marx. Tender. He really loves my dad, ps.

She is too cute for words. While you are looking, check out the French Toast.... Kneaders. SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. You really could not make this better at home. Not even make it as good, either. Back to the girl... I just love her. She has a fun (and sometimes not so fun) personality and it is fun to discover it (the fun parts, anyway!).
This is will be your director... He is directing us to move over to where he is. All set there. I just thought he looked so funny, all grown up or something. And, I think I should say positives about my husband. I slept over at my parents' house on our anniversary! HAHAHA that sounds terrible, but he had to work and I wanted to save gas, so we hung out during the day and then I left and came home tonight (So I have not actually seen him since yesterday at like 4 and he is at work right now too). Well, when I came home, he left a cute note for me on my pillow. He had hung all the pictures (like 7) that have been sitting in a corner in our room (for like 2+ years now). He cleaned our room really well (neglected room :( ) . He did all the dishes, cleaned out a vase with rotten 2 month old flowers... I have been so busy with this boutique stuff.... SO anyway I came home and was very surprised and happy.

Not so CUTE. Bummer.

I guess someone did not appreciate our friend using their cute paper for blog designs and sharing the love... oh well. Whatever.
What we are selling at our boutiques--- crafts, cute words/letters on blocks, home and holiday decor, Scentsy candle warmers and wax (I decided that I love them, even though I still do not own anything Scentsy...), wreaths and stands, windows, framed photography (my photos :)) and picture frames that I have made CUTE! Seriously I will work on some pictures. I am going down today and I will take pics. I pretty much took all my stuff to my mom's house. Our booth is the size of a water closet (hahaha) so we can not put too much out but we have a lot! Oh yeah and we added a boutique... or two... Ogden's Simple Treasures (we decided to try again) Nov 28th- December 1st and in Oakley December 7th and 8th. We are really excited. This is fun. Stressful, but fun. I think the main thing that discourages me is wondering or being worried whether or not people like what we have made. I am an art-loving individual and so when I make something, I feel like it is art... as cheesy as that sounds... Well anyway. I guess if people don't buy our stuff, don't be surprised if that is all you get for gifts for the next five years! Well I am off to check if we are doing okay... keep your fingers crossed.

Here are photos of our first boutique (Simple Treasures). The booth was really easy because they were a little more open to design. Good for a first one! This one we were supposed to have stuff that we made, no "retail". All the others will have things we ordered (VERY VERY CUTE stuff!)

OH YEAH!!! Today is our 6 year wedding anniversary! I'll post pics of our anniversary breakfast (with kids, yeah we are fun...) when I do the others. It was great. Kneaders if freaking awesome. MUST try if you like pancakes or french toast.

Boutiques

Okay so I am sorry I have not posted this info already. Last week we (as in my sister, Jenni and I) Did a boutique in Ogden. It was okay. That was just the first of many, so here is the info.
*Battlecreek Boutique * October 18-20 * Thurs and Friday 9 am to 8 pm, Saturday from 9-5
(41 East Battlecreek Drive/200 South, Pleasant Grove)
*Country Hearts Boutique* November 3rd * 10 am to 5 pm**** this show is in Delta
*Terri's Blue Goose Boutique * November 8-10 * Thurs and Friday 9 am to 8 pm Saturday 9-6
(Lehi Legacy Center 123 North Center Street, Lehi)

We also might be doing the Holy Cow, though this is unlikely. We are on a cancellation list and will not know until after 10/17. If we do that, it will be in November 14-17 at the same place as Battlecreek. I have been to this one and seems successful. If we do not get in for November, we will be applying for the spring show. Also, we are looking into a boutique in Oakley and then we will most likely do the one in Ogden again at the end of November (Nov 28- Dec 1).
So if I do not post much or call/email back, you can pretty much count on the fact that I am not sleeping much and spending MUCH time downstairs working on our stuff!
Oh and I promise, I will post some photos soon. I took some of our booth in Ogden (nothing special...) and I will take some in PG and post them.

Cuteness

Thank you to my lovely friend Kendra for teaching me how to make this page cute. Also, Happy October to you all. I love this month-- great temperatures, a fun, useless and wonderful holiday, football season is here (sometimes that is not good... like Sunday when your TV is on all day and it is ALL football-- that is too much for me; thank goodness we do not subscribe to the NFL Sunday Ticket). I could think of more. One thing I really love, though, is the crisp fall air. Breathe it in, baby. Leaves are pretty too. Fortunately, my poor trees (sad, so really unfortunate) do not have enough leaves to actually make me rake them. Come to think of it, it is so windy here that I doubt the leaves would even stay in my yard anyway. Sorry to the neighbors down the street!

I have been a slacker when it comes to pictures, so my poor baby did not get 9 month photos taken (I am still bugged, even though I could just take some and they could just be 10 month photos instead). I need to be more on the ball, just tooooooo many things going right now.

In fact, this is the last image I uploaded from my camera.... taken on September 19th.... That is so long for me. Well I will work on getting newer photos on here and some from this summer, especially the New York trip.
