Family Night

Last night, we attempted to have a family home evening, by going to a movie... I know, not what you are "supposed" to do, but whatever. We went to go see this...

But the stupid theater was full, no seats for the four of us-- they had us pay for Sydney, we thought she deserved a seat-- so we had to go see this instead. I was really bugged at first- I am sure that half the people in the Narnia movie did not pay for the seats their children were sitting in, and that is RUDE (and freaking cheap, since tickets were only .50 each). But we did get a free movie out of it, even though I felt cheap for accepting it! So the next one is on them. Well, I guess it may as well be, since we spent $10.25 for a popcorn and a drink.
The crowd in Nim's Island was a bit different. Syd would have been fine (normally is at the movies) with the million kids in Prince Caspian, but it was all old people in Nim's Island. Not exactly the crowd that overlooks loud kids. Needless to say, I stood for most of the movie, rocking an obnoxious child (she was cute though, hard to be mad at her) in my arms. Fun times at the movies. Next time it will have to be the drive-in (after the free one!).

Triathlon Revisited

I was just looking through my posts and realized that I never posted pics from the Shark Attack. Here we are, over a month later, and if I would have waited after this weekend, it would have been two triathlons later. So here they are. And the finish line photo was taken by Brian Nicholson from the Deseret News. Thanks to him for sharing it with me! His is much better than mine (haha I guess that is why he is the photog and not me, eh?).

LONG night, Syd would not sleep in her play yard, so she slept between us. The only one who slept was Sydney (really sucked and was freezing. Did not convince me to make it a habit to take my kids camping)... Jody is all marked up and ready to go!

But you get the idea (plus he is probably grateful for the fuzz).This one was taken by Brian-- he was the only one who was aloud inside the pool area besides volunteers and people in the race. Out on the last part, the run.

Just waiting for daddy. The kids were very good, surprisingly. I like that in a triathlon, you move around (but not so much that you feel like you are competing as well). Unlike a marathon where you just sit in the same spot for HOURS.

We took a little boat ride on the pond and chased the ducks and geese.
This is during the awards and giveaways. They gave away some great stuff (and some dumb stuff, like 20 mugs)-- 2 tri suits, and I think those are like $200? I don't know, but they are a lot of moula.
It was fun! Now I will have to find the PG triathlon and post those pics. Jody is doing his first open water swim this weekend, and it is longer as well (800 meters). He is nervous! This one is at Echo Reservoir.

Water Babies

I guess they would need to play in the water all of the time to be able to be "water babies" but they had fun for the ten minutes they were out there...

Ethan dumped a big cup full of water on a frame that I had painted; that is when the pool was emptied and the fun ended. At least they played outside for a few minutes in July! I need to get better at having them play outside, I just don't want to sit out in the heat with them! I am such a boring mom.

The New UVU

For Jody's birthday, I gave him tickets to go see Colin Raye, along with Josh Graycin and Joe Nichols. The tickets were only $10 each! Well, technically they were supposed to be like $9.33 but they were $10 (kbull 93.3 put it on). Jenni & Brad and Jenni's friend Amanda and her husband came as well. It was so much fun. VERY HOT! But not too bad, once we were in the park and were able to sit down, though. We arrived over two hours early so that we could get a good spot, and apparently many had that same idea too. The whole Brent Brown Ball Park was completely full.
I had to sneak my camera in TWICE! The first time, I forgot to take it out of my purse, then we left the area to go get some food and had to do the checkpoint to come back in. FREAK! It is not like I took my camera to take pics of the performers, as you can see. I really could care less whether or not I have photos of them! Just us :)
There was a Neil Diamond impersonator and he was hilarious & Johnny Biscuit was there as well. ALl in all, it was a very nice evening. We left a littl early because we figured my parents did not want to babysit till after midnight!
