I know this is a highly opinionated post, but I guess that is okay, since this is my blog. I was flipping radio stations earlier today, while in the car ALONE. I was going to the dentist, that is not too exciting, but alone time nonetheless. So on KBER 101 they were playing a song you would not normally hear on there, I kept changing the stations and ended up coming back to that one, and they were discussing the song. The song was "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry (just in case any of you are appalled at my post and feel you need to go listen to it). I was curious what a rock/heavy metal station was doing playing the song, so I listened on. They were having a discussion about women kissing other women and wanted callers to share their thoughts on the matter. Of course, they were looking for females, but while I was listening, there was only one. One of the guys called and said that he saw two girls kissing at a wedding and he seemed like he was not a fan of the latest trend. But the girl. Well, she said that it is totally common. She will go out to clubs with her fiance and then at some point, it will come up in the conversation and then the girls in the group will just kiss because they know it turns on the guys (she also mentioned that she sees it all the time). Then she went on to say that she is not homosexual, and the only pleasure she gets out of it is knowing what it does to her fiance. SICK! I am so sure! So my opinion is this-- a girl kisses a girl, it is homosexual. I don't care what people say. If a guy kissed a guy, there would be no question about it. Its all sick to me. Don't get me wrong, I know people that are homosexual, and we are friends, but that does not mean I agree with it.
I read somewhere today that if you are wearing something just to get the attention of those in the room (IE something that is immodest), then it is most likely inappropriate. I am thinking the same thing with actions. Is it okay to kiss a girl (if you are a girl), just cause you are seeking a reaction? NO! It makes me sick to think I have kids that I have to really communicate to them the black and white of right and wrong. If it is gray, it is probably not right. This is not even gray to me though (now that I am going to have African American and gay activists all over me, maybe I should change that to red, white and pink).
I really could go on and on. I love Grey's Anatomy, and I have watched it since it first aired on ABC. But I watched the last couple episodes of last season in a row and I am just not sure how much longer I will watch. I was already getting tired of the provocative scenes in the first place but the McSteamy-Callie-Dr Hahn saga was grossing me out. THEN when it became Callie-Dr Hahn. That just pushed me over the edge. Why do they think people want to watch that? Maybe they do, but I am just not sure if I can watch that show anymore. Some people were thinking I was silly for feeling that way, but at what point are we going to stick up for what we believe? That girl on the radio was saying that guys love to see girls kiss because it really gets them going. So? Does that mean you should kiss your friend just cause some stupid guy wants you to? That chic was also saying how its okay to kiss a girl, its not cheating like if you were to kiss a different guy than boyfriend/whatever. I think that is crap too.

Please Come!
If you are in need of something to do and feel like driving... since we just love to spend money on gas, right!?! I am going to be in Midway tomorrow from 12-7 doing a sidewalk sale type thing at a store called Racehorse Lane. The address is 105 East Main Street. I will also be there next week, during Swiss Days. So if you want a nice drive in to a nice, cute little town, come and see me. I will direct you to a really yummy pizza joint, too, if you would like!

Disaster
I usually do a pretty good job of holding everything together, I think. That said, my life is such a disaster right now! I don't mean that anything has necessarily gone wrong (except the inevitable computer and car problems), the type of disaster I mean is a wreck or mess. I am just struggling to not LOSE IT! I am not depressed or anything, so no worries. I just have so many things going on that normally I have the capacity to handle it all (or at least feel like I can stay afloat), but right now... that is another story. I only have so much "cleaning" in me. I wish I were like you crazies out there who love to clean. I love to be clean, do not love to do clean. I will clean the kitchen and then 10 minutes later, everyone else will leave their messes everywhere and my time and energy will have been wasted. If our finances were not such a disaster, and we could afford it (yeah right) I am to the point that I would arrange help in this area!
There are SO many projects that need to be taken care of and I just do not feel like I can do it all by myself. Our yard finally does not look AWFUL like it did- Jody has been do some yard work here and there, so it is easier to hide how ghetto we are a little better! That said, our yard is by no means beautiful. Our soil (or something) chooses not to cooperate. My house is always a wreck. I have a nice, decent-sized laundry room. I would LOVE it, except it is FULL of loads and loads of dirty (and a couple clean) clothes.
My kids get food everywhere, the bathrooms are okay (meaning not perfect, but not disgusting), just the list goes on and on. I have so many things I want to make for all of our upcoming craft shows and boutiques too (which I will spend more time on than my house; my house has no deadline, though my sanity may), and I can usually dig deep and find the energy for these things (or at least chug a Diet Mountain Dew every few months to compensate), but it is just not there right now!
I can barely get up at 8:30, and for those of you who know me, I usually wake up about 7-7:30 ish and get things started. Right now, my kids' brains are turning to glue (though at least they are learning something, ha ha) watching pbs kids each morning.
I am doing okay on time this morning, or would be if I was not sitting here, so I guess my disaster post is ending. If you have any suggestions on how to come by some extra energy, naturally (no Rockstars or pills), without suggesting exercise (I would do that if I could wake up at 6:30 to do it), let me know ;).

Chirp
I think one of the most annoying sounds ever (excluding sounds made by kids, lol) is the dreaded low-battery alert on a smoke detector. I am sure it would save trauma just to change them all every year on the same date, I think I read some places do it April 1st. But of course, we are not that organized. Oh yeah, and we hate bringing a ladder in to get to our ceilings. The other day, the one in our family room "chirped" (or beep or whatever) and we ignored it-- it did only do it a couple times that day. Then it started this morning, just after 7 am, and did it once a minute until we changed it. VERY annoying, but I guess that is the point. I just don't understand why they are so stinkin' complicated to change! It took an hour and we had to look up directions online.
I am using Jody's laptop to make this post, so I made us take some pics with the Photo Booth-- I love it! It is so much fun, and provides some entertainment, if you are ever in need of it (umm always?). So here goes. I am not sure how long it will be before I can use my other computer, I am afraid to log in, because of this stupid virus it has. If you get an email from me and it looks weird, does not seem like it is from me, please do not open it. Thanks!

PS I can not stop thinking about Breaking Dawn. I might start reading it again...
And as I write this, Sydney is singing her own version of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, involving lots of twinkles! She is my cute little singing girlie.

People Search
Where in the world is Spencer Hancock?
Okay so here is the explanation to that. I was thumbing through pictures of our St. George Spring Break Trip from 1997, and wow- a flood of memories came to me. Spencer is one of those people who I just cared for a lot (as a friend-- don't get me wrong, I had a small crush on him at one point, but that was all), and we had emotional turmoil at the same time. So, I am not trying to meet up with him or anything, I am just wondering if anyone has heard anything or knows what he is up to, since his mission?
Thanks!
There are so many people I want to know what is going on with, but I saw a kid yesterday who kind of looked like him, except he was lacking blue eyes. Made me think. So anyway!

GRRR and Other Ramblings
I have had someone (?) so rudely interrupt my life in the last couple weeks! I was in Lake Powell (will post about later, when I have more time) and someone sent out a bogus email to my contact list and then deleted it (both annoying). THEN this morning I checked my email first thing, and I received a confirmation email from Paypal, saying I purchased something from this company I am sure I would never buy from. SO. I guess there is such a thing as a virus that downloads all your info that you input on the Internet and sends it somewhere and they get your info. Nice. Did I mention that someone I live with thinks we already have good enough anti-virus software that we do not need to spend $ on something better???
So that is the GRRR.
The REAL reason for this post, is that I want to talk about the new book, Breaking Dawn. Nicole W. and I were thinking it would be fun to get together with other Twilight fans and have a party/get together to hang out/talk. It does not have to be anything crazy, so no dressing up (unless you are dying to...hahahahaha), so I am not sure if I would call it a "party," but a get together to hang out and be kid-free and chat about the books and whatever else comes up with like-minded individuals. If this sounds like something you would want to do, let me know. I am thinking my house, just cause I am suggesting it, but here is what I want you to do. Leave a comment and say when would be best for you and if you have a suggestion for the location (sorry, must be around here, not WA, lol). Thanks!
